Be Completely Devoted to God
In his book, Crazy Love, Christian author, Francis Chan says, “Following Christ isn’t something that can be done halfheartedly or on the side. It is not a label we display when it is useful. It must be central to everything we do and are.”
To be who Jesus wants us to be, every area of our lives ought to obviously bring glory to God and demonstrate our love for him. That’s why Paul told us to present our bodies to God as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God (Rom. 12:1). That’s why Paul told us to do everything to the glory of God (1Cor. 10:31). That’s why Jesus told us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mar. 12:30).
Ask yourself how you can please God in every area of your life: in the way you talk, dress, eat, drink, treat people, choose your friends, work, play, plan your time, spend your money, and dedicate your energy.
Seek to do everything you do in the way that will please God the most. This is very reasonable. Jesus gave his life for you. Why wouldn’t you give your life to him? -Paul
