Have the Faith to Be Bold
The Christian philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard said, "Faith is the highest passion in a human being. Many in every generation may not come that far, but none comes further."
What good thing would you attempt right now if you knew you could not fail? God wants you to be the kind of person who attempts that good thing even though you don’t know what the outcome of your attempt will be, knowing that God will be pleased, and knowing that he will reward you in the end. To be that kind of person is to have faith, “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
God wants you to be the kind of person who is willing to risk in order to do God’s will. God wants you to be a person who doesn’t shrink back in the face of risk. “But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him." (Hebrews 10:38)
It is essential that we have the boldness to step out on faith. If we lack the boldness of faith, we can be assured that we will face God’s displeasure. “Without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Let’s be people of bold faith, because God’s displeasure is the only thing we truly have to fear. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31) -Paul
